Thanksgiving Enemy Number ONE...

If you know me, you know that I have strong opinions on everything. There are very few things in this world that I do not have a strong feeling about - either in the loving it or loathing it. And I know that it may look like I've skipped over Thanksgiving and headed straight to Christmas. But don't be fooled. I love Thanksgiving. Such a great holiday - and I will showcase it's greatness in the coming weeks. But. There is one thing that will RUIN (beyond repair) any Thanksgiving feast: Green Bean Casserole.
This dish has NO redeeming qualities. None. It tastes awful...it smells worse. And I assure you that if you were to arrive at my home with this abhorrence as your contribution to any meal, let alone Thanksgiving dinner?! Well, I would turn you around and point you in the direction of the nearest Denny's. And then I would give thanks for the right to refuse service to anyone. Boo to you, Green Bean Casserole.

You know - assassins and killers have three names...and this dish has three words...a coincidence? I think not.

Forgive my ignorance, and my genuine love of green bean casserole with those crispy onions sprinkled all about, cream of mushroom soup, and maybe some bacon bits... but I digress - so what three names do assassins and killers have? And please don't misunderstand, as I will NEVER bring green beans of any kind to ANY meal where you might actually be dining. I have way too much respect for you and your right to choose a culinary experience void of green bean casseroles. But it is so very tasty!

Art -
I appreciate your situation. And I would never say that YOU shouldn't eat a casserole of your choice. More for you, I guess?!

You know killers and assassins like:
John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald and John Wayne Gacy and Oh Jay Simpson. You know.

I was just thinking during an unusually timed Christmas commercial how delicious this dish looked and longed for the 22nd when I get to eat it with reckless abandon....Maybe we're not dopplegangers after all....

You and I have gone toe to toe on this one before.
I LOVE GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE
and I am so sorry you never developed a taste for it this fine American tradition.

Nonetheless, have a wonderful holiday.
