Today was the missionary farewell of one of my brother's best friends. This young man has basically been my second brother for the past 10 years. We have so many embarrassing pictures of Bob...I really love this boy. And today he gave a great talk in church - such presence and style. Really should have been born a Taylor. And it's been a long time since I've cried that much. My mom, Bob's mom and another mom have been singing as a trio for many years now. Today the Little Smokies, as they're known, were the special musical number during the meeting. So I was crying by the end of that...and through Bob's talk. AND THEN, the closing hymn was "God Be With You Til We Meet Again." WELL. I was gone. I wanted to sing, cuz I really like the hymn, but was physically unable. Geoff was an even bigger mess. Not exactly "the rock," my Geoffrey.
Heaven help us all when September arrives.

For reals. I might need to high tail it to Portland in September for the day we don't mention.
Yeah, where is he going? I thought these missionary things were a joyful thing... not a long trip off a short pier! Geez Nel, get a grip. You better cry like THAT for me when I'm gone....
